Milton Neumann

Milton Neumann, 80, of Shelby, died Oct. 24, 2003, in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center in Brenham. Mr. Neumann was born Nov. 7, 1922, in the Winedale community of Washington County, TX, to Arthur and Anna Neumann. He was baptized Dec. 31, 1922, in Winedale Lutheran Church by Rev. A.H. Falkenberg and was confirmed Sept. 20, 1936, in the same church. Mr. Neumann attended Winedale, Nassau and Round Top schools. On Nov. 7, 1944, he was married to Elaura Kasparek in Warrenton by Rev. Julius Bosshard. He was a dairyman, farmer and rancher. Mr. Neumann was a member of St. Paul s Lutheran Church in Shelby, where he served on the council a number of years and served as president and treasurer. He was also a member of Shelby Fire Department and Sons of Hermann and was past president of the Shelby Cemetery Association and Haw Creek Cemetery Association. Survivors include his wife, Elaura Neumann of Shelby; son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Shirley Neumann of Round Top; grandchildren, Stephanie Neumann and Matt Harris of Franklin, Scott and Natalie Neumann of Bellville and Shaun Neumann of Houston; great-grandchildren, Conner Neumann of Bellville and Alexandria Harris of Franklin; sisters-in-law, Angeline Kasparek and Lloyd Zwernemann of Carmine and Lillie Kasparek of La Grange; and three nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Percy Kasparek. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27 in St. Paul s Lutheran Church in Shelby with Pastor John David Nedbalek officiating. Burial will be in the Shelby Cemetery. The family will receive visitors in Foehner Funeral Home in Burton from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26. Pallbearers will be Royce Bartels, Larry Jaeger, Wille Rotter, Fritz Schoenst, Wilton Schoenst and Milford Smith. Memorials may be given to St. Paul s Lutheran Church Building Fund, 6814 Skull Creek Rd., Fayetteville, TX 78940 or Hospice Brazos Valley, 705 S. Austin, Brenham, TX 77833. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Foehner Funeral Home in Burton.
