Mildred Miller, 85, of Brenham, widow of Jesse J. Miller, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center. Mrs. Miller was born July 27, 1922 in Lake Arthur, La. Her loving parents were John Shoemake and Louise Langley Shoemake and later her stepmother, Euel Shoemake. She married Jesse Miller on January 2, 1940 in Houston, Texas. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law John Butch and Sharon Miller of Cypress; daughters Charlotte and Wilfred Peanut Gaskamp of Brenham , and Brenda and David Gottlieb of The Woodlands; grandchildren Sherral Stell, Randy Parkison, Michael Miller, Michelle Miller and Saul Dachslager; great-grandchildren Heidi Parkison, Jackie Parkison, Taylor Gerland, Cassidy Miller, Kale Miller and special friend Cindy Stallones; sister Mary and husband Ken Dollar, brothers Donald Shoemake and wife Brenda, Kelly Shoemake and wife Madge, Colby Shoemake and wife Lenora, and sisters-in-law Elaine Shoemake and Delores Shoemake. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Greenvine Baptist Church. At one time she was active in the Home Extension Club. She loved to play dominoes, working in her flower beds. and enjoyed traveling with her friends, earning her the nick-name Roadrunner . She loved her family, cooking for them and finding new recipes in her cookbooks. Mrs. Miller was an active antique dealer, selling and collecting items of sentimental value over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jesse Miller; her brothers, Johnny Ray Shoemake and Glen Shoemake and son-in-law, Jack Parkison. Funeral services for Mildred Miller will be held Friday, October 5 , 2007 at 1:30p.m. in Greenvine Baptist Church, with Pastor Bob Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenvine Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will take place Thursday October 4 from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Greenvine Baptist Church, 5020 FM 2502, Brenham, Tx. 77833.
