Mary Davis

Mary "Stella" Davis, 89, former resident of Brenham, died January 24, 2010 in Allen, Texas. She was the widow of Lee E. Davis. Stella was born August 21, 1920 in Houston, Texas to John and Maude Spencer Clark Roach. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She loved plants, volunteering, and reading. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Sharon Davis of Bryan, John and Renee Davis of Cypress, Steve and JoLynn Davis of Brenham, Bill and Kit Davis of Houston, Don & Stephanie Davis of Jackson, MS, and Ron and Cindy Davis of Slidell, LA; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and James Liepke of Fairview, 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and JoAnn Roach of Houston and Jim and Dorothy Roach of Willis. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lee E. Davis and her parents, John and Maude Roach. Funeral services for Mary " Stella" Davis will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Brenham with Reverend Terry Dougherty officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Memorials may be given to Methodist Childrens Home, P.O. Box 5010, Waco, Tx 76708 or a charity of your choice. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham.
