Louise Loesch

Louise Bertha Loesch, 97, of Brenham, died March 20, 2009, at Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village in Brenham. Mrs. Loesch was born January 9, 1912, in the Zionsville community of Washington County, Texas, to Richard and Louise Stegmann Hahn. She was baptized beside the casket of her mother, who died in childbirth. When she was 2 days old, Mrs. Loesch was adopted by Ernst and Louise Reddehase Kochwelp and was named Louise "Lillie" Kochwelp. She was educated in the Hoddeville and Long Point schools. She was confirmed on Palm Sunday, April 10, 1927, by the Rev. Karl Mueller at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville. On November 29, 1934, she was married to John W. Loesch at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville by Rev. Karl Mueller. Mrs. Loesch was retired from Sakowitz Bros. in Houston. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville and was an honorary member of Prairie Hill Fire Department. Mrs. Loesch was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, John Loesch in 1996 and also seven brothers, six sisters, eight nephews, and four nieces. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Howard and Pat Kochwelp of San Antonio, Elwood "Micky" Kochwelp of Eagle Lake, Arthur "Dick" and Evelyn Kochwelp of Brenham, Marvin and Doris Blum of Burton, Earl and LaVerne Blum of Burton, Barry Blum of Bryan, Carolyn Blum Heidemann of Brenham, Irene Kochwelp Rankin of Brenham and sister-in-law, Louise Belle Loesch of Brenham and following niece and nephew-in-laws Neva Blum of Alvin, Adele Kunkel of Burton, Margie Kunkel of Houston, Eugene Bothe of Brenham and Douglas Winters of Giddings. Also surviving are numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, March 23 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.Pallbearers are: Billy Blum, Ronnie Bothe, Elwood Kochwelp, Bill Thane, Richard Hollis and Gray Weyand. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
