Lillian Werchan

Lillian Werchan, 95, widow of Alex Werchan, died October 13, 2010 in Baylor Regional Medical Center in Grapevine, Texas. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, with Rev. Alan Kethan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Werchan was born November 15, 1914 in rural Washington County to Rudolph and Melinda Bohne Heckmann. She was baptized March 7, 1915 and confirmed September 9, 1928 in St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. On October 30, 1935, she was married to Alex Werchan. She was a seamstress as well as a homemaker. Survivors include daughter Betty Danhaus and husband Jerry of Flower Mound; grandchildren: Dr. Melissa Pearson and husband Robert of Flower Mound; great-grandchildren: Aslan Pearson, Arie Pearson and Strake Pearson of Flower Mound, brother Harry Heckmann of Houston; sister-in-law, and Mary Ann Heckmann of Brenham; Preceding her in death was her husband, Alex Werchan; parents, Rudolph and Melinda Heckmann; granddaughter, Jennifer Danhaus; sister Gladys Krause, and a brother Erwin Heckmann. Lillian was a lifetime member of St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. She was a faithful Christian lady who passed a Christian legacy to her entire family. She kept the faith to the end, and finished her purpose on earth. Her most current joy was playing with her great-grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to St. Peter s Lutheran Church, or to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
