Lanis Blitz Jaeger, 51, of Burton died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at his home. Mr. Jaeger was born January 12, 1956 in Brenham to Henry, Jr. and Lillie Neumann Jaeger. He was baptized November, 1959 by Pastor Brunotte and confirmed in April, 1970 in Our Savior Lutheran Church of Houston. Mr. Jaeger attended Sam Houston High School in Houston, and later Houston Community College. He was a member of Emmanual Lutheran Church of Greenvine, Farm Bureau, and the Young Farmers Association, the Greenvine Wildlife Association. He was the owner of Blitz Welding Service and was also in the ranching business. Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law: Bernhardt and Lois Jaeger, Melvern and Theresa Jaeger, Wilburn and Sarah Jaeger, all of Houston; Larry and Ruth Jaeger of Burton; Jerry and Paulette Jaeger of Cary, N.C.; sisters: Delores Gummelt of Burton; Jeanette Zemanek of Houston; Edith and Earl Featherston of Houston, as well as 25 nieces and nephews, 31 great-nieces and nephews, a great-great niece and a great-great nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law Jack Gummelt and Robert Zemanek. Funeral services for Lanis Blitz Jaeger will be held at 10 a.m..Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007 at Emmanual Lutheran Church of Greenvine with Rev. Teresa Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Jaeger-Witte Family Cemetery. Visitation with the family will take place Friday, August 31, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are his nephews Daryl Gummelt, Mark Jaeger, Jeff Featherston, Steven Jaeger, David Zemanek, Michael Jaeger, Brian Jaeger, and Warren Jaeger. Honorary pallbearers are Bradley Featherston, Jason Jaeger, Daren Jaeger, Johannes Jaeger, Georg Jaeger, Theodore Jaeger, and Mike Byrd. Memorials may be given to Emmanual Lutheran Church of Greenvine. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
