Lanell Neinast

LaNell Neinast, 83 of the Rehburg community, died February 15, 2008 at her residence, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Neinast was born September 19, 1924, to Herbert and Elsie Kasten Nienstedt. She was baptized at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church in Brenham and confirmed at St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton on April 14, 1938. She attended Burton Public Schools and graduated Blinn Jr. College. On July 20, 1947 she was married to M.W. "Cowboy" Neinast in St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton. LaNell worked along side her husband in the dairy business for 29 years. After that she worked with Cowboy in farming and ranching. She was active in the cattle business up until her death. LaNell was a member of St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Rehburg. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law Royce and Claudia Neinast of Burton, Russell Neinast of Burton. Daughter and son-in-law Connie and James Hatch of Cypress, Texas. Step-grandson, Beau Grahm. Brother and Sisters-in-laws Herbert and Helen Nienstedt of Brenham, Lydia Heins of Burton, Virginia Neinast, of Brenham and numerous nieces and nephews: special friend Adeline Landua. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, M.W. "Cowboy" Neinast, brother, Charles Nienstedt, and brother-in-law Roy Neinast. Visitation with the family will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, February 18 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 19 at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church in Rehburg with the Rev. Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Lange, Charles Landua, Chuck Peterson, Matthew Brod, James Brod, Bill Wolverton, Woodrow Heine, and Greg Nienstedt. Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Lacina, Gary Gaskamp, Jason Stiewert and her numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be given to St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Rehburg, Texas Home Health Hospice or to a favorite charity. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main ST., Brenham, 979-836-4564.
