John Hermann

John Hermann, 77, widower of Gladys Kramer Hermann, died November 8, 2012 in Brenham Nursing and Rehab Center in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, November 12, 2012 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, with Pastor Jeffrey King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. John was born January 20, 1935 in Brenham to Louis and Matilda Kaechler Hermann. He was baptized in Friedens United Church of Christ in Gay Hill, and attended the Rocky Hill School. John was married to Gladys Kramer on Dec. 6, 1958 in Brenham. A member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, he worked for Brentex Mills for a number of years, and was later employed by the Steadley Co. for over 30 years as a forklift operator. Survivors include sons Benjamin Hermann of Brenham; daughters Gladys Vordenbaum and husband Philip of Pasadena, and Jarnette Morris and husband David of Houston; grandchildren: Jaime Morris, Alyssa Vordenbaum, Kayla Morris, Cody Vordenbaum, and Ronnie Morris; sisters Hattie Dallmeyer of Brenham and Annie Malke of Burton. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Edward, and several brothers who died in infancy. Serving as pallbearers are Philip Vordenbaum, David Morris, Banjamin Hermann, Cody Vordenbaum, Ronnie Morris, and Donald Lee Lampe. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn. Funeral arrangements for John Hermann are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
