Penn community of Washington Co. to Fritz and Johanna Marzahn Klussmann. She was baptized Dec. 25, 1917 by Rev. Paul Bohat at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Wm. Penn, and confirmed there April 9, 1933 by Rev. C. J. Appel. Johanna walked six miles to school each day after doing her morning chores, which included milking the cows. She lived most of her life in the Wm. Penn Community until her move to Brenham Nursing and Rehab. On January 27, 1946, she married Herbert H. Emshoff, also at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Wm. Penn, where she had the honor of being the oldest member. She continued membership there with her family until her death. Johanna served as Sunday School teacher and was a member of the LWML at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was a talented quilter, handcrafting many quilts for the public, with many finding their way over the entire country. A wonderful cook, she was famous for her homemade bread, baking five loaves at a time almost daily. She also enjoyed peeling potatoes at the annual potato pancake supper. A favorite memory of her granddaughter Kristy was time spent with her grandmother, stirring up homemade doughnuts and cutting them from the dough, then frying and icing them. A generous and giving person, Johanna was kind to all. Reading her Bible was part of her daily routine. Survivors include a son, Daniel Lee Emshoff; daughter Lathel Norris; grandchildren: Kristy Lynn Fessenden and husband Scott of Leesburg, Florida; great-grandchildren: Fox Allen Fessenden and Phoenix Ray Fessenden, both of Leesburg, Florida; sister-in-law Irene Emshoff of Richmond, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, Fritz and Johanna Klussmann; her husband, Herbert H. Emshoff; a son, Gordon Ray Emshoff; son-in-law George Norris; brother Christoph Klussmann, and brothers and sisters-in-law Otto and Clara Klussmann, Freddie and Rosie Klussmann, Martin and Ester Klussmann, Walter and Fannie Klussmann; sisters and brothers-in-law, Annie and Shedrich Woosley, and Hennie and Erich Schroeder. Serving as pallbearers are Stanley Sommer, Samuel Sommer, Landon Klussmann, Wallace Klussmann, Mark Brandt, Paul Richter, and Paul Joseph Brandt.
