Jack Lanham

Jack Lanham, 87, husband of Ada Jean Lanham, died January 1, 2014 in Brenham. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Brenham Church of Christ, with Pastor Doug Hall officiating. .Visitation will take place at the church beginning at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, continuing until service time. Jack Lanham was born June 28, 1926 in Little River, Texas to Andrew Jackson and Bertha Belle Calhoun Lanham. He graduated from the University of Houston with a business degree, and worked in the precious metals and steel industries as an inside salesman. After serving his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II and Korean War, he married Ada Jean Haws on Sept. 13, 1952. Memberships included the James F. Dillon Post 7104 of the VFW in Brenham, the National Tennis Association, and the University of Houston Alumni Association. Survivors include his wife, Ada Jean Lanham; sons Darrell Keigm Lanham and wife Debra of Rocky Mount, NC; daughter, Alison Elaine Supak of Brenham; grandchildren: Candice Lorraine Lanham-Belk and husband Conly, Daniel Lanham and wife Jess, Brian Jacob Gaskamp, and Brett James Gaskamp; great-grandchildren; Tanner Belk, Julie Belk, Jayden Lanham, Lily Lanham, and Zoey Lanham. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Bertha Lanham, a brother, Kenneth Lanham, and sister, Ruth Lanham. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley. The family wishes to thank their many friends, to the Brenham Church of Christ, and Hospice Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements for Jack Lanham are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
