Evelyn Meyer

Evelyn "Fay" Meyer, 75, widow of Edwin G. Meyer, died August 31, 2016 at her residence near Round Top.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Marcia Kifer officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Fay Meyer was born Oct. 11, 1940 in Brenham to T. F. and Mary Kieke Wilks. She was baptized and confirmed April 19, 1957 at Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome by Pastor Walter Wolfe. On April 9, 1961, she married Edwin G. Meyer in First United Methodist Church in Brenham. He preceded her in death Nov. 22, 1992.
Fay was employed by Germania Insurance Co. as a custodian. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Warrenton until her death.

Survivors include sons Eddie Wayne Meyer, and Mark Allen Meyer, both of Brenham; son, Robert "Bobby' Meyer and wife Frances of Granbury; daughters, Tina Faye Meyer and fiancé Daniel Thornton of Round Top, and Carol Hammond of Tyler; sister, Patsy Hegemeyer of Brenham. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church of Warrenton or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
