Evelyn Koehne, 84, of Brenham, died November 27, 2006, at Brenham Rest Home. Mrs. Koehne was born September 1, 1922, in Prairie Hill, Washington County, Texas, to August Sr. and Agnes Bentke Lange. She was baptized October 8, 1922 in Prairie Hill by Pastor Gogolin and was confirmed in St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill on April 10, 1938 by Pastor Becker. On November 27, 1941, she was married to Henry Koehne, Jr. in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Pastor Gogolin. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill and was a homemaker. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Milton Fred Hueske of Brenham; one daughter-in-law, Darleen Koehne of Brenham; five grandchildren, Steven Koehne and fiancée Brandi Bell, Kendra Landry and husband Craig, Kyree Kloecker and husband Shane, Cory Swor and husband Blake and Cassie Hueske, all of Brenham; two great-grandchildren, Katelyn Koehne and Lawson Swor, both of Brenham; one sister and two brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Ben Niemeyer and Rufus Lange, Sr., all of Brenham; two sisters-in-law, Lydia Lange of Brenham and Mary Lange of Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Koehne, Jr., on May 25, 1999; son, Gilbert Koehne, on May 19, 2003; brothers, August Lange and Edwin Lange; and sister, Ella Mae Bohac. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill with Pastor David Hansen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Koehne, Craig Landry, Shane Kloecker, Blake Swor, Keith Bohac, Donald Lange and David Lange. Honorary pallbearers will be Kendra Landry, Kyree Kloecker, Cory Swor, Cassie Hueske, Katelyn Koehne and Lawson Swor. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. The family thanks Brenham Rest Home for all the care they have given Mrs. Koehne over the years she was a resident there.
