Eugene Lehmann

Eugene Lehmann, 79, husband of Esther Lorenz Lehmann, died April 18, 2010 in College Station Medical Center. Born July 24, 1930 in Independence, Texas to Henry and Clara Blome Lehmann, he was baptized September 7, 1930 in St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill by Rev. G. Czerkus. On March 25, 1945, he was confirmed in the same church by Rev. W. C. Poehlmann. Eugene was married to Esther Lorenz on April 5, 1953 in Salem Lutheran Church of Salem, also by Rev. Poehlmann. He served for a number of years in the Texas National Guard. Eugene was employed by Blue Bell Creameries as a driver/salesman, having enjoyed retirement since 1992. Eugene volunteered his services to help others in his community through Bread Partners of Washington County. Survivors include his wife, Esther Lehmann; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Kathy Lehmann; grandchildren Krystal Ann Glaeser and husband Craig, and Kaylyn Lanae Lehmann and fiancé Brandon Hanath; brothers and sisters-in-law Emmitt and Shirlene Lehmann, Lenard and Ruth Lehmann, all of Brenham; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Hilda Lorenz, George and Wallene Lorenz, and Mildred Holle, all of Brenham; Evelyn Blome of Houston; Dorothy and Charles King of Houston, Betty and Billy Schaefer of Temple, and Carol and Richard Martins of Southlake. Preceding him in death were his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, three brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law and three nephews. Funeral services for Eugene Lehmann will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham, with Pastors Lawrence Bade and Phil Fenton officiating. Burial will take place in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Alan Lehmann, Roger Chambers, Brian Lorenz, Ken Holle, Gary Blome, Don Blome, Dax Martin, and Christ Sezonov. Those who wish to memorialize Eugene may make donations to the T. V. Ministry of St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church, or to St. Paul''s Christian Day School. Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
