Eddie Landgraf, 80, of Brenham, died April 25, 2005, in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center in Brenham. Mr. Landgraf was born June 25, 1924, in Mound Hill, Texas, to Willie and Anne Rust Landgraf. He was baptized August 24, 1924, in Friedens Evangelical Church by Rev. Karl Merkel and was confirmed on April 2, 1939, in Prairie Hill. Mr. Landgraf attended Washington County schools and graduated from Blinn College. He served in the U.S. Army in the Southwest Pacific. On May 6, 1945, he was married to Alice Fischer in Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church. For over 50 years, he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the VFW and the American Legion. Mr. Landgraf was a retired employee of Ward Automotive, Ford Tractor and Brenham State School. He was also the owner of Gold Dust Drive In and was manager of A-1 Auto. Survivors include his wife, Alice Landgraf of Brenham; sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis Landgraf of Dallas and Kenneth Landgraf and wife Judy Eckert Landgraf of Brenham; five grandchildren, Kelly Landgraf, Ben Landgraf, Charlie Kriegel, Tanya Keith and Misha Bridgens; two great-grandchildren, Christina Kriegel and Jordan Tappe; brothers, Alfred & Iva Lee Landgraf of Deer Park and Lonnie & Leona Landgraf of Brenham; and sisters, Selma Boeker of Brenham and Mabel Kankel of Pasadena. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Anne Rust Landgraf; brothers-in-law, Gilbert Kankel, Fred Fischer and William Bill Fischer. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, April 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27 in Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Matthew Jacobs and Pastor William Holzer officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews: George Lorenz, George Rhodes, Marvin Fischer, Travis Boeker, John Stayton and Darrell Kankel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Medical Center or Grace Lutheran School Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
