Charles Kramer

Charles Kramer, 78, of Brenham, died Sunday, August 21, 2005, at his residence. Mr. Kramer was born May 5, 1927, in the Prairie Hill community of Washington County, Texas, to Fritz and Lena Ellermann Kramer. He was baptized and confirmed in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill and attended Prairie Hill School. On Jan. 14, 1955, he was married to Mae Lorene Martin in Houston. He was a retired job superintendent for Johns Manville Sales and was a former justice of the peace for Washington County Precinct 3. Mr. Kramer was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, where he sang in the choir. He was a member of the Park Place Masonic Lodge #1172 AF & AM and Scottish Rite of Galveston. He was also a member of the Gay Hill-Mound Hill-Cedar Hill Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Mae Lorene Kramer of Brenham; daughter, Cheryl Ann Kramer of Houston; brothers, Edgar Kramer of Brenham, Alfred Kramer of New Braunfels and Robert Kramer of Friendswood; and sisters, Mildred Richter of Brenham, Verda Rogge of Friendswood, Edna Lehmann of Brenham, Lydia Goessler of Brenham and Helen Gottwald of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Otto Kramer. The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill with Pastor Virgil Pecht officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Gilbert, Bobby Kramer, James Richter, Nolan Lehmann, David Lehmann and Ronald Gilbert. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to Hospice Brazos Valley Brenham, 302 E. Blue Bell Rd., Brenham, TX 77833. Appreciation to Hospice, AMA, as well as family and friends for their compassion and support.
