Celesta Ramsey

January 16, 1922 — April 28, 2015

Celesta Hewett Ramsey, 93, went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 29, 2015. She was born to Willie and Hulda Hewett on Jan. 16, 1922. She went to school and was raised in Burton. She was baptized and joined the First Baptist Church of Burton, but has not been an active member for a long time. Celesta married J. B. Dallmeyer and they had four children. She was a wife, homemaker, owner of the Washington Hotel, and later had a farm in Wesley. She became the widow of Neal Ramsey in 1999. Those preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Ruby Drews and Vel Lewis; son, John Dallmeyer, and grandson, Troy Dallmeyer. Survivors are children Johnnie Lou Becker, Gladys Dallmeyer-Smith, Glenn and Judy Dallmeyer; grandchildren: Gordon Riggins, wife Margaret and family, Nelson Smith, wife Yolanda and family, Keith Dallmeyer, wife Christy and family; Robert Winfree and wife, Karen Bertling and husband Gary and family, Jackie Justice, husband Jimmy and family, and Mark Dallmeyer, wife Amber and family. Celesta also had numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She had a very special friend, Jean Piercy, who helped care for her. If we missed anyone, we apologize. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Burton, with Rev. Larry Ideker officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral arrangements for Celesta Hewett Ramsey are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
