Bob Toler

October 28, 1924 — March 26, 2012

Bob Toler, born October 28, 1924, left this earth on March 26, 2012 to join his beloved wife, Irene Kankel Toler. Bob was born in Chester, Texas to Jim and Lilly Toler. As a child, he loved to hunt, fish, play football, and run track. After graduating from Chester High School, Bob enlisted in the U. S. Army, serving in WWII, where he was awarded a Purple Heart and a Medal of Valor. He married Irene Kankel on July 4, 1946 and they lived in Houston and Spring, Texas. He worked for Courtesy Chevrolet and Southern Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad and retired from there in 1981. Bob is survived by two daughters: Barbara Toler Tiffin of Conroe, and Debra Toler Pierce of Spring; four grandchildren: Jeff Tiffin of Frisco, Jennifer Tiffin of Spring, Blake Rasco of Spring, and Dustin Pierce of Houston; daughters-in-law Shannon Tiffin of Frisco and Brandi Rasco of Spring; one great-granddaughter, Sydnie Tiffin of Frisco, and a brother, James Toler of Moscow, TX; sister-in-law, Louise Toler of Moscow, TX., and sister-in-law, Florence Boehnemann of Brenham. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held Thursday, March 29 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. A graveside service will take place Friday, March 30 at 11 a.m. at Prairie Lea Cemetery, with Pastor Jill Vivroux officiating.
